All works were composed for a Public Relations Writing class. The materials were created based on a fictitious scenario and are in no way connected to American Girl. This portfolio highlights my work in multiple aspects of public relations writing.
Media Kit
The media kit contains four writing pieces and a strategic brief. The fictitious scenario described a 30 year anniversary party for American Girl. After 30 years of hard work, American Girl plans to hold a party event in the New York retail location, including cake, guest speakers, and a special contest. The media kit focuses on announcing the event to the media in hopes of coverage.
The newsletter gets sent out to adult customers of American Girl. Newsletters have the job of providing specific information to a group of people and further develops complete communication between a company and its publics. This newsletter highlights the events from the anniversary party.
An infographic organizes information in an appealing and easy to read format, containing visuals and limited copy. This infographic outlines the Beforever historical doll collection, placing each doll in the correct spot on the timeline. Along with their era, the dolls also share a little about the theme of their stories, giving customers a better understanding of the doll.
Brochures inform customers about a business or special campaign. This brochure contains information promoting American Girl's new partnership with Children's Miracle Network. The campaign runs the course of the anniversary year and aims to promote the special anniversary product line, as well as raise funds for Children's Miracle Network.
Web writing contains materials that would be found online. Writing for online materials can differ from print materials. This section includes webpages for an American Girl website, highlighting the anniversary year and special events. It also has a blog and social media posts.
